Sport Fish Restoration

Brenda Morrison explains how water quality is affected in a watershed.   Students listen and discuss the importance of clean water for people, animals, and industry.

Students learn about exotics. Mr. Jackson holds an apple snail in a jar for students to see. The apple snail is an example of an exotic animal. Biologist collect fish and keep samples in jars for later study and observation.

Minnow baskets were placed in the creek and an Alabama Darter was caught. Students place fish in a holding tank and try to identify what was captured.
Youth get the opportunity to collect aquatic insects. Aquatic insects are food for the fish. Look another green sunfish.
