If you purchase a Forever Wild car tag that money goes directly into the Forever Wild Land Trust. It is then used to purchase and manage lands nominated by the public. The Forever Wild Land Trust was created in 1992 when Alabamian’s voted for constitutional amendment number 543. Currently the program has purchased over 113,000 acres for public protection and recreation. These unique lands provide additional acreage to our State Parks or Wildlife Management Areas or serving as a stand alone Nature Preserves and/or Recreation Areas. To learn more about the program, how it works and view maps and photos go to the menu at the top of the page and select your area of interest.
